Ferdie e-mailed today some kind of "campaign plugging" and I'm more than willing to show my support. I have supported Akbayan's work ever since they started participating as party-list in Congress. With LAGABLAB, our organization have worked with them on the Anti-Discrimination campaign. I'm not sure, but I could claim, that Akbayan has been the very first party-list - and they remain our strongest ally in Congress - in introducing anti-discrimination legislation. The last anti-discrimination bill, penned by Representative Etta Rosales, even got through second reading; I think it would have passed if not for the severe homophobic intervention of some Manila congressman, who was unbelievably even the Administration-backed chair of the human rights committee. Hay naku, the struggle continues.
